Big Sins
I messed up big time. Will God still forgive me?
Manasseh also sacrificed his own sons in the fire in the valley of Ben-Hinnom. He practiced sorcery, divination, and witchcraft, and he consulted with mediums and psychics. He did much that was evil in the Lord’s sight, arousing his anger.

But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!

Keep in my mind that even though we screw up God still loves us, cares about us, and will still be there waiting for us to come back into arms. Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at Manasseh's life. This new king of Israel had undone everything the previous king, Hezekiah, had done to make the land of Israel pure and holy. Think about taking countless hours, Hezekiah spent his life, to clean and organize your room and your sibling comes in and destroys it in a matter of second. Not cool at all. Manasseh lived a life without God. He worshiped various idols, placed idols in the Temple of the Lord and even sacrificed his sons to them. Now this is a guy we wouldn't want watching our kids at daycare. His actions angered the Lord but God had plans to bring him back. Manasseh got himself into a lot of struggles. He poured his heart out to God, humbled himself before the Lord and asked for forgiveness. He was forgiven. Are you ready to be forgiven?
Be humble. Seek Forgiveness. Find Christ.

dotDevos: Foolish Talk
Foolish Talk
How does the way we talk reflect us?
A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing, but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.
Proverbs 15:1-2 (NLT)
But you know better now, so make sure it's all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.
Colossians 3:8 (MSG)
What comes out of our mouth shows what kind of person we are. The Bible says those whose speech is filled with malice are foolish. Are you a fool? Gossiping, flattery, lying and profanity are all problems. They are problems in our heart as well as speech. Jesus tells us to love one another as he loves us, but as we speak this way we disregard this commandment. Only leading us to be sinful and foolish. Speaking this way is worthless. It does nothing but cause pain, grief, and a whole lot of drama. It's just as worthless as the junk mail you receive in your e-mail. You don't look at it, you don't need it, and you don't want it. The only deserving place for it to be stored is in the trash because that's all it is. The same thing goes with our foolish talk. Are you finished being foolish?
Don't be a fool. Know better. Tame the tongue.

dotDevos: Use Me
Use Me
What do you do when you want to be use for God? How do you let him know?
Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for." Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
Isaiah 6:6-8 (NIV)
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
2 Timothy 2:21 (NLT)
It doesn't take fireworks to get God's attention and let Him know that you want to be used for Him. Not at all. Simply just tell him. Got that? Here it is again, just let God know you want to be used for him. As Isaiah lips were purified and prepared before he spoke of the Lord, God may make preparations in our heart and life. If you were going to dig into your delicious Friday night dinner would you want to dive in with the fork that wasn't washed since Monday's four cheese lasagna? I don't think so. Wouldn't it be nice to know that you will be enjoying your dinner with a fork that has been thoroughly scrubbed of residue and is sparkly clean? Just like the fork we must be prepared for God to use. Allowing God to prepare you can be a hard and painful trial, but it will allow you to be fully prepared and ready to serve Him.
Let God know! Let the Preparation Begin! Serve Him!
